Are you an experienced Site Manager looking for an exciting opportunity in Yorkshire? Look no further! Our dynamic and rapidly expanding tier 2 contractor is seeking a skilled individual to oversee commercial builds across various sectors, including healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, and storage.

Position: Site Manager
Location: Yorkshire (covering South Yorkshire, Humberside, and North Lincolnshire)
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum, with a company car or car allowance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a team of 20 to 50 workers, including subcontractors and site staff, to achieve project goals efficiently.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain rigorous health and safety standards on-site, ensuring full compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of resources, materials, and equipment effectively to optimise productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Client Relations: Foster positive relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to deliver projects to the highest standards of workmanship and craftsmanship.
  • Cost Management: Monitor project costs closely, identifying cost-saving opportunities and mitigating risks to protect project profitability.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports, site documentation, and relevant paperwork, maintaining accurate records throughout the project life-cycle.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues and challenges proactively, employing innovative solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices, striving for continuous improvement in project delivery processes and methodologies.
  • Requirements:

    • Hold valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and First Aid at Work certificates.
    • Additional tickets such as Abrasive Wheels, etc., are desirable.
    • Proven experience in managing commercial construction projects, preferably across multiple sectors.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within the designated region.

    Responsibilities

    • Able to supervise a team of junior engineers, technicians and/or graduates
    • Assist with training, undertake quality assurance and coordinate the workload of junior team members

    • Liaise with stakeholders including public, local, client officers and elected representatives
    • Ensuring all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system and assist in developing improved procedures in the service area
    • Responding to client and customer enquires

    Requirements

    • Relevant degree or HND/HNC (preferably in engineering) or equivalent
    • 2-3 years of relevant experience
    • Understanding of highways and traffic engineering techniques and principles
    • Experience in highways related AutoCAD design
    • Familiarity with TMA 2004, DMRB, MfS and the Traffic Signs Regulations and Traffic Signs Manuals

    Window and Door Surveyor Responsibilities:

    • Communicate with customer’s representative on site regarding site specific issues
    • Perform Site Surveys in a timely manner to ensure schedules are met
      • Finalise dimensions
      • Assess site access and determine if any special equipment or tools are required
      • Assess roof access and determine if any scaffolding, etc… is required
