We are looking for: A result driven, self-motivated and resourceful Senior Quantity Surveyor with substantial experience in managing all costs relating to groundwork and civil engineering projects. Possessing excellent foresight and the ability to plan ahead when working on construction projects. Must be a dynamic, ambitious, well organised individual with the sense to use their own initiative. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading specialist in our field, operating as a subcontractor or as a main contractor, working for the end user, constructing projects up to £20million.The role will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for supporting associated contracts ensuring that effective commercial management is exercised at all times, which both relate to success for our business whilst meeting our customers needs at all times. Experience: • Experience of the tender stage & of dealing with procurement issues. • Experience of working on residential housing projects. • Comprehensive understanding of statutory building regulations. • Excellent working knowledge of commercial procedures. • Thorough knowledge of health, safety, quality and environment procedures • SMM7, CESMM3 • Knowledge in the Use of JCT, ICE6, NEC3 • Excel • Hold a current CSCS Card Responsibilities: • Develop relationships with previous and potential Clients • Presenting / Pitching to Clients for new work • Measure efficiently using software • Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation • Manage change control & negotiate variations • Project Reporting – providing advice and forecasts about costs • Value engineer to maximise project revenues and cash flow • Prepare and deliver a contract awareness briefing to the project management team including work package managers at commencement of the project. • Ensure compliance with and correct administration of the contract terms and conditions • Ensure timely submission of all contractual notices and supporting data • Ensure timely preparation, submission and agreement of payment applications • Assist Project Management teams with advice and contractual support for project issues • Support the bidding process, including the preparation of commercial contract reviews, the preparation of risk reports and making sure that bids are submitted on time • Ensure that adequate records are maintained in respect of project issues and commercial management processes • Report Project Cost Reconciliations, ensuring variances between planned budget expenditure and incurred costs are identified, together with an audit trail of variances to the baseline budget and appropriate action taken to minimise costs and liabilities. • Promptly review and recommend for Client’s approval Contractor Final Accounts Requirements: • Good humour • Appropriate Degree and/or other academic and/or professional qualification (MRICS) • Demonstrate a proven track record in quantity surveying with Groundwork experience • Experience of working in a Construction/Developer environment. Knowledge/experience in Residential House building. • Customer facing experience with a “win-win” philosophy and “can-do” attitude • Good communicator at all levels, able to promote development of JOG profile • Good timekeeper • Commensurate IT skills • Full UK Driving License We are interested in talking to candidates with the right construction industry and quantity surveying experience at this level, preferably from a contracting background, to be able to leverage and improve their skills and aptitude to achieve best in class commercial performance. Working Civil Supervisor required for holiday cover on a new build housing site in Choppington

  • Cover required Monday 20th May – Friday 24th May
  • Rate is negotiable – we pay CIS, Umbrella or PAYE
  • Role is oversee and work with 6 operatives / groundworkers covering various aspects of groundworks.
  • Work is based on site, basic paperwork duties required
  • Requires SSSTS / SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid

Role will include:

  • Liaising with both site management, engineer and trades operatives
  • Allocating daily responsibilities within the team and coordinating
  • Reading and working with drawings
  • Ensuring the safety of yourself and others
  • Supervision of trades workers whilst also carrying out groundworks duties
  • Ordering materials
  • Completing relevant paperwork

Clear Engineering are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager within the Internal Construction/Fit Out sector to work on a 12 month Freelance/Self Employed Contract in Berlin. This will be working on a project that will be converting office space into a Data Center.

To be successful :

  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience within the role
  • Previous experience working on major office fit out projects
  • Ideally, the right person would have experience within the mission critical/data center space but this is not essential
  • Be able to manage & oversee all contractors on site
  • Strong experience within obtaining permits, safety inductions, toolbox talks etc
  • Must be fluent in both German and English
