Location – Midlands, Birmingham

Permanent, Full time (Part time considered)

Are you interested in contributing to the evolution of Health and Wellbeing in construction? Can you change the consideration of occupational health and realign the focus to be a priority? Then our position for Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager could be for you.

Can you help to push the boundaries of how risk is managed along with best practice being implemented? Do you have a track record of installing occupational health excellence? You would join a team of professionals that can work in fast-paced site environments. Developing policy and practice as well as providing knowledge of legislation.

Due to the size of a prestigious rail project in the Midlands area you will be based on location with the project. This will help you to monitor the effect of work based activities on occupational health. Can you lead the implementation of occupational health plans? Are you able to develop, manage and review project health management plans? Can you lead the implementation of occupational health plans?

What responsibilities will you have?

  • Proactively consider the effect of work activities to implement measures that will remove, reduce and control health risks
  • Overseeing and ensuring workplace teams have adequate competency to assess work related health risks
  • Assurance reporting on supply chain OH&W plans and ensuring the supply chain are competent in assessing occupational health risks.
  • Maintain a health surveillance programme, helping with early identification and intervention
  • Support managers in managing employee restrictions, ensuring appropriate working arrangements and reasonable adjustments
  • Working with the Laing O’Rourke Occupational Health team and health providers
  • Highlight occupational health services available to employees
  • Provide assistance and advice to Health and Safety teams
  • Facilitate and coach operational teams on occupational health risks

Can you be an ambassador for the Laing O’Rourke occupational health strategy? Can you support and influence project teams to deliver the skills required in occupational health? Then we need you in this role.

What other skills and knowledge will you use?

  • Qualification in Community Public Health Nursing, Occupational Health or similar to NMC part 3.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health Risk Management
  • Good practical knowledge of OH&W and delivery of OH&W programmes
  • Ideally qualified or understand Health and safety policies

Laing O’Rourke can be flexible on but due to site travel someone based in and around Birmingham would be preferable. The role will offer a platform to communicate with teams and really change the perception and ‘Normal’ for OH&W.

Project Planner

Working for a main contractor’s water division, developing and leading work programmes based on the new AMP8 projects.

Location: – Cardiff

Salary: – £60,000 – £65,000 basic + Car + Package

Role Description:

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with one of the key delivery partners for Welsh Water, delivering a 5-year framework for the upgrades to the water network. Looking for additional Planning support to help create and deliver the programmes via P6.

As a Project Planner, you report directly to the Contract Manager and ensure that individual project programmes are developed, maintained and reported in line with clients’ requirements. You will be responsible for collating and reporting activity data to support the commercial team, as well as key performance data for quality management purposes.

This is a perfect role for a P6 Planner in the infrastructure sector looking for stability and development over the next 5 years in the South Wales region.

Day to Day duties will vary but could include:

  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and Internal stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for coordinating all third-party constraints, design, procurement and construction information into the programme
  • Make project team members at all relevant levels aware of programme risks, key issues and solutions in a proactive manner.
  • Experience of working on Primavera P6 and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Able to facilitate and lead on the development of schedules with stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-functional team.

Working on a hybrid basis, with flexible working hours as long as the project outputs are achieved. The schedule is designed around dropping the kids at school, picking them up at home, or attending appointments such as the dentist. Typically, you work 2-3 days at home and 2-3 days in the office.

Qualifications:

  • Experience on site is key developing up from a Site Engineer into Planning is the preferred background. Understanding the drawings and technical specifications makes a more efficient programme of work.
  • Engineering Qualification can be HNC / HND or a degree in an Engineering-based subject.
  • Knowledge of P6 software.

Salary – £42,000 – £46,000 basic + Car or Allowance + Package

Locations – Birmingham

Role Description

The Resolute Group are working in Partnership with a Tier1 contractor working on HS2 and delivering a section of works in the Birmingham region. We need a Methods Engineer to support the site teams when delivering Temporary works packages.

ith a focus on delivering high-quality and safe work methods within the HS2 project standards. Ensuring the following tasks are clearly defined:

  • Temporary Works requirements
  • lifting plans related to any lifting operation
  • Design of the lifting equipment requirements
  • Technical Scope of Works with the construction teams
  • Review and validate the elaboration of drawings

Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Produing Method Statements and Risk Assessments always taking care of their feasibility and clearing any risk occurrence.
  • Takes care of the safety feedbacks of the construction teams and revises the procedures accordingly.
  • Prepares and raises Temporary Works Briefs, following up to ensure timely implementation.
  • Carries out on-site safety visits, reports any discrepancy with the procedures to the construction teams and writes reports accordingly
  • Ensures the perfect understanding of the input and requirements defined by the Temporary Works Coordinator as well as the design and construction teams.
  • Ability to read design documents and interrogate temporary works designers accordingly
  • Identifies technical problems and proposes technical solutions
  • Maintains a comprehensive filing system of quality records aligned to the Project Quality Handover requirements.

This is a site-based role, interacting between all the stakeholders in the process, as such you will be in the office or at the site 3 days a week as standard with 2 days from home. This may change depending on the project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural engineering or related subject.
  • Experience with Temporary works, be it Designing, Coordinating or interfacing.

You must be living and authorised to work in the UK, Lodgings are provided if you live in the UK but outside a commutable distance to Birmingham.
