Location: Covering sites across Staffordshire + QC work across the UK

Business Area: Kier Places – Facilities Management – Stoke & Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Authority

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Package: Company van + standby & call out (out of hours & weekends)

Kier Places are recruiting today for a Multi Skilled Engineer (Gas Bias), where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, the Stoke & Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Authority, covering buildings across Staffordshire.

Key Responsibilities

As a focused and reactive Multi Skilled Engineer (Gas Bias), you will deliver a combination of electrical, mechanical, water and building fabric planned (PPM), reactive, quoted, and extra works engineering services specialising in gas disciplines. You will be assisting in ensuring Kier deliver a safe, customer focused, cost effective, efficient, and compliant service in order to meet its contractual and legal obligations.

Whilst gas biased, this role is multi-skilled and encompasses various PPM tasks including, but not limited to, tap testing, flushing & fixing, tap temperatures, shower descaling, legionella tests, pump/compressor fault diagnosis, assessing plant equipment, fire sprinklers, fire alarm, emergency lighting, fuses, desk management, heat recovering units, security, and access control systems generator, HVAC, AHU & compressor maintenance, and other general maintenance works within your abilities such as minor fabric, electric, lighting, water, plumbing & heating repairs.

Gas maintenance activities will include works on gas boilers, gas water heaters, gas pipework testing & purging, gas air heaters and gas radiant tube heaters.

You should also be comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, and in plant rooms; working alone or in a team; and be comfortable moving/transporting tooling & access equipment of all sizes & weights.

This role will also include being the Gas QC for the business portfolio on our Schools & Hospitals PFI and Corporate Estate contracts which are predominantly located across the Midlands & Yorkshires. National travel outside of these regions may be required.

What do we need from you?

We’re looking for a proactive Gas Safe Registered Qualified Engineer who holds the following valid Commercial Gas qualifications, certifications & tickets – CCN1, CDGA1, CENWAT, CIGA1, COCN1/CCN1/CODNCO1, CORT1, CPA1, ICPN1, TPCP1 – as well as Electrical Safe Isolation training, Part L Energy Efficiency, and Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems (UHWSS).

To be a Multi Skilled Engineer with Kier, you’ll have general engineering competence and bring previous experience in commercial building services / facilities management; be someone who is able to conduct first line response and servicing of M&E equipment, with fault finding and planned maintenance experience, and a good understanding of SFG20 & service delivery timescales.

As a bonus, you may have PASMA, Working At Height, IPAF certification, and L8 Legionella awareness; and would be an advantage if you also have Electrical qualifications; 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Initial Verification of, and Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certifications of Electrical Installations.

Due to the nature of this position you should have a full UK driving licence, be happy travelling across the region & country to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.

Working for a main contractor’s water division, developing and leading work programmes based on the new AMP8 projects.

Location: – Cardiff

Salary: – £60,000 – £65,000 basic + Car + Package

Role Description:

The Resolute Group are working in partnership with one of the key delivery partners for Welsh Water, delivering a 5-year framework for the upgrades to the water network. Looking for additional Planning support to help create and deliver the programmes via P6.

As a Project Planner, you report directly to the Contract Manager and ensure that individual project programmes are developed, maintained and reported in line with clients’ requirements. You will be responsible for collating and reporting activity data to support the commercial team, as well as key performance data for quality management purposes.

This is a perfect role for a P6 Planner in the infrastructure sector looking for stability and development over the next 5 years in the South Wales region.

Day to Day duties will vary but could include:

  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and Internal stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for coordinating all third-party constraints, design, procurement and construction information into the programme
  • Make project team members at all relevant levels aware of programme risks, key issues and solutions in a proactive manner.
  • Experience of working on Primavera P6 and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Able to facilitate and lead on the development of schedules with stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-functional team.

Working on a hybrid basis, with flexible working hours as long as the project outputs are achieved. The schedule is designed around dropping the kids at school, picking them up at home, or attending appointments such as the dentist. Typically, you work 2-3 days at home and 2-3 days in the office.

Qualifications:

  • Experience on site is key developing up from a Site Engineer into Planning is the preferred background. Understanding the drawings and technical specifications makes a more efficient programme of work.
  • Engineering Qualification can be HNC / HND or a degree in an Engineering-based subject.
  • Knowledge of P6 software.

Role Description

The Resolute Group are working in Partnership with a Tier1 contractor working on HS2 and delivering a section of works in the Birmingham region. We need a Methods Engineer to support the site teams when delivering Temporary works packages.

ith a focus on delivering high-quality and safe work methods within the HS2 project standards. Ensuring the following tasks are clearly defined:

  • Temporary Works requirements
  • lifting plans related to any lifting operation
  • Design of the lifting equipment requirements
  • Technical Scope of Works with the construction teams
  • Review and validate the elaboration of drawings

Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Produing Method Statements and Risk Assessments always taking care of their feasibility and clearing any risk occurrence.
  • Takes care of the safety feedbacks of the construction teams and revises the procedures accordingly.
  • Prepares and raises Temporary Works Briefs, following up to ensure timely implementation.
  • Carries out on-site safety visits, reports any discrepancy with the procedures to the construction teams and writes reports accordingly
  • Ensures the perfect understanding of the input and requirements defined by the Temporary Works Coordinator as well as the design and construction teams.
  • Ability to read design documents and interrogate temporary works designers accordingly
  • Identifies technical problems and proposes technical solutions
  • Maintains a comprehensive filing system of quality records aligned to the Project Quality Handover requirements.

This is a site-based role, interacting between all the stakeholders in the process, as such you will be in the office or at the site 3 days a week as standard with 2 days from home. This may change depending on the project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural engineering or related subject.
  • Experience with Temporary works, be it Designing, Coordinating or interfacing.
