University of Liverpool Digital Innovation Facility, BREEAM Excellent – Project Showcase.

As the week closes we thought we’d highlight another construction project in the North of England. Designed to be BREEAM Excellent the new flagship Digital Innovation Facility at the University of Liverpool is making great progress.

A three story Centre of Excellence specialising in simulation and virtual reality is an exciting addition to the University. The £6 million project is forecast to create over 400 new jobs in the area over ten years and boosting the local economy.

The Digital Innovation Facility will bring additional science and technology to Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter and support plans to deliver integral new workspace and developments cementing Liverpool as a world class innovation city.

According to IBI Group, the vision for the DIF is to enable companies and organisation to leverage facilities and expertise, and work with complex simulations to develop new software and products, including high performance computing, robotics, virtual realist and engineering.
