Regional Land & Mineral Resources Manager Full time, permanent position Flexible location
Breedon is a leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland with around 1 billion tonnes of mineral reserves and resources. Breedon have a strong growth strategy; we have significantly expanded in 2020/21 with the completion of the Cemex acquisition, delivering an additional 170 million tonnes of mineral reserves.
Breedon GB Ltd are seeking to recruit a motivated Regional Land & Mineral Resources Manager to lead the L&MR team in the Central & North Region. The office base location is flexible for the successful candidate.
This senior role will report direct to the Head of Land and Mineral Resources for GB and work closely with the Central & North Managing Director. You will be directly responsible for the leadership of the regional L&MR team and for the coordination and provision of Estates, Planning and Geological services for the Central & North Region.
We are looking for a senior individual with the ability to influence and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be people focused, with excellent attention to detail and the drive to make it happen.
Your key responsibilities, achieved via coordination and liaison with your direct L&MR reports and external consultants are to:
- Develop the Company’s organic mineral replenishment strategy
- Maintain Breedon’s licence to operate in a sustainable, cost effective and sustainable manner
- Manage and ensure compliance of all planning permissions
- Management of property agreements and associated occupation costs, including the payment and review of rents and royalties
- Coordinate and liaise with external planning and environmental consultants to produce surveys studies and reports as necessary
The successful candidate will be provided with a company vehicle and must be willing to travel to the Company’s various locations across central and northern England.
The role will appeal to candidates with strong leadership skills, commercially focused mindset with a continuous improvement and ‘can do’ philosophy. Good communication and problem-solving skills are important, together with the ability to relate to people at all levels, both within and outside the Company.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and or have the relevant minerals experience within the industry and be self-motivated, pro-active and able to manage a broad range of projects simultaneously with minimum supervision. Ideally you will be a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Geologist or Chartered Planner.
