JOB DESCRIPTION:

Telehandler operator required for a large nationwide construction company that specialises in residential projects. Our client is looking for experienced and hardworking driver to join a project based in Crewe. The site can be accessed by public transport so own transport is not essential.

This contract will be ongoing, with hours being 7:30 – 4:30, Monday-Friday and the option to work overtime at the weekends.

Daily responsibilities will include:

  • Operating forklift
  • Moving materials around site
  • Any other works as directed by the site team

Requirements for the role

  • A valid NPORS or CPCS card
  • The ability to perform physical manual labour
  • Own PPE – High vis vest, safety glasses, gloves, dust mask and hard hat can be provided by Daniel Owen
  • Own tools NOT required

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and deliver specialist support/advice to a benefit processing or housing benefit overpayment team. To ensure relevant legislation, regulations and policies are complied with.
  • To monitor and allocate incoming work and to provide training and day to day guidance on all computer software systems and forms used by the service, plus make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures to improve and enhance customer experience.
  • To accurately process Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support, Free School Meals and all discretionary schemes administered within the service including those introduced under Local Welfare provisions.
  • To develop and deliver all aspects of Housing Benefit overpayment recovery.

In particular we are looking for a Principal Officer with the follow experience/knowledge:

The officer should have experience in making decisions on complex Specified Accommodation cases in line with HB Regs. The officer will need to be able to identify whether the claim can be treated as specified accommodation, scrutinise documents, deal with revision requests and liaise with landlords. They will also need to liaise with the Team Leader to discuss their findings, deal with queries, give advice to team members and manage the team when the Team Leader is absent.

Building Envelope Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Building Envelope Specialist for an important role working within a team of senior staff engaged in Due Diligence/Latent Defects Insurance Technical Audit roles. Within this team they are engaged in structural and building envelope assessments on some of the most prestigious new buildings in London. Prior experience of such roles would be an advantage but is not essential; more important is wide ranging experience of cladding systems within a variety of building types, ideally within both design and construction.

The successful candidate will be undertaking the review and inspection of building envelope systems and will have wide ranging experience of a variety of building types within both design and construction. Based in Epsom, you will be required to work locally, nationally and internationally and there will be a requirement for flexibility in respect of travel to meet client demands. You will need to demonstrate a mature and experienced attitude to working closely with clients and in this role your expertise and advice may be called upon on a day-to-day basis by the client.

Your professional qualification could be in engineering or architecture from either a consulting or contracting background – more important is your knowledge and experience of both design and construction in this specialised field. The successful candidate will have excellent technical writing and communications skills.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience of design and construction of Building Envelope systems across a variety of building types from concept to construction.
  • Understanding and experience of cladding system components; including framing, gaskets, insulants, vapour barriers, breather membranes.
  • Experience in a wide range of materials, including Aluminium, Steel, Timber, GRP, PVC, Rubber, Manmade, ETFE, etc.
  • Knowledge of coatings/protection.
  • Knowledge and experience of interfaces and tolerances between other building elements.
  • Testing, Maintenance and Repair of cladding systems.
  • Experience and appreciation of issues around “Bespoke” designs.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing.
  • Experience and confidence in client-facing roles.
  • Proven track record of strong client liaison/relationships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations/legislation.
  • Preferred skills/experience.
  • Experience of Due Diligence/Latent Defects Insurance work.
  • Expert Witness experience.

We’re currently looking for an Electrical Supervisor/Construction Manager to join the team at one of our prestigious Mayfair based projects, you will ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Company procedures and to a high standard of quality.

You’ll

  • Co-ordinate and control electrical suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with Sub-contractors regarding co-ordination matters.
  • Maintain standards of Plant and Site facilities in accordance with Health, Safety and Welfare procedures.
  • Ensure all Installation works are carried out in accordance with Statutory Regulations, current standards and Company Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Regularly inspect installation works for soundness of quality and workmanship.
  • Control and maintain a drawing register, and ensure current and superseded information is properly maintained.
  • Ensure Testing of Installation and Reports during progress of works and on completion.

We’re looking for:

  • Experience of working as an Electrical Construction Manager/Supervisor on similar type projects with a focus around Electrical building services.
  • Experience of managing and overseeing Electrical installations within new build commercial, mixed use or residential projects.
  • Appreciation of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to use 4 Projects and Fieldview
  • Level 3 City & Guilds Electrical Qualification
  • Electrical regulations (18th Edition)
