Job Title: Buying Administrator
Client – Birmingham City Council
Role Location – Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham (with some WFH)
Turnover – £75m
Contract – Birmingham Highways
We are Kier, one of the UK’s leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Local and Strategic Highways.
Objectives
Supporting the Buyer and wider contract management team in delivering value for money for the client
Activities
Production of materials, overheads and plant orders as required. Maintain compliance with client procurement process & budget. Internal cost control checks and amendments as necessary. Ensure stock levels maintained in collaboration with Stores team. Preparation of ad-hoc/out of scope supplier payment requests. Maintain efficiency register for purchases.
Competencies / Requirements
- Experience of working with Microsoft Office and Computerised Accounting Systems, Causeway experience desirable
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, with accurate outputs
- Collaborative and committed to team working in Kier Highways.
- Ideally has experience in either the construction, highways maintenance or utilities industries
