The DE function within Crown House digitally engineers MEP projects, incorporating modern methods of construction and installation detailing prior to work commencing on site. This digital prototyping provides an optimised engineered solution, technical excellence, maximised use of offsite products, reduced waste and enhanced delivery efficiency.

Digital, BIM and DfMA are more important than ever to our customers and our business. The role our DE function plays is increasingly varied, important, and influential. We are expanding our team, recruiting for an MEP Digital Engineer focused on work-winning and post-win early engagement. This role provides exciting opportunities for MEP BIM professionals to use their skills in new ways and be part of Crown House’s and Laing O’Rourke’s world-class projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the DE function to meet work-winning objectives
  • Support the DE function to progress newly awarded projects through RIBA Stage 3 & 4, influencing the design to give the best possible outcomes
  • Support the DE function’s delivery teams with installation and manufacturing modelling, drawing and data production as required
  • Work closely with Regional and Principle MEP Digital Engineers to deliver key agendas, innovative ideas, new technologies, and processes.

In this role you will develop and use a broad variety of skills:

  • BIM level 2 and BIM in accordance with ISO 19650
  • Commercial awareness
  • Understanding how tenders and the wider business works
  • Communicating and collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders
  • DfMA / MMC concepts and coordination principles
  • Redeploy RIBA Stage 5 skills to make a positive contribution to Stage 3 & 4 designs
  • Report writing & presentation skills
  • 3D MEP modelling (Revit)
  • Understanding, specifying, and delivering Asset Data / COBie etc

Desired Technical Knowledge

  • Experience in producing MEP models using Revit software (RIBA Stage 4 & 5 preferred)
  • Knowledge of BEP’s, LOD requirements etc
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
