Senior Quantity Surveyor – French speaking

THE ROLE

I am seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Economiste de la construction sector who speaks both French and English to join my client, a large firm of construction consultants / PQS in their office in Paris, France.

You will work on new build, refurbishment and fit out projects for retail, leisure, hospitality and other construction projects from feasibility through delivery on site.

You will do the full range of pre and post contract duties as a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Economiste de la Construction sector.

You will deal directly with clients and delivery high quality cost management services for large building construction projects.

You will report to a Director.

THE COMPANY

My client is a successful firm of construction consultants providing project management and cost management services to private and corporate clients.

They have offices worldwide.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Economiste de la Construction Sector.

You must have good written and spoken French at a level to understand construction constracts in French and you need fluent English too.

You will need to have around eight years or more experience working as a Quantity Surveying for a firm of PQS doing both pre and post contract work.

You will have good experience of cost estimating and cost planning plus thorough knowledge of construction methods and materials.

You will have good experience of all post contract duties including valuing complete work for payments and settling final accounts.

Previous experience of working in France is not essential.

You will ideally be MRICS qualified.

Salary is negotiable according to your experience but likely to be in the range of Euro 70000 to 80000 per annum.

Social Housing Site Manager

We are currently supporting one of our clients in their search for a Site Manager for social housing refurbishment works in and around Manchester. This work will be covering bathrooms and kitchen works so experience of this work is a must. This is ongoing work and could lead to a permanent role if suitable. I am looking for a Manager who has social housing refurb experience.

As Site Manager you will take full responsibility for the Site Activities which will include:

  • Delivering all Construction activities in line with Health & Safety policies
  • Working to RAMS
  • Monitoring quality and progress
  • Coordinating direct and indirect (Subcontractor) personnel
  • Lead and deliver against project programme
  • Liaison with internal departments
  • Ensuring high quality records / reports / paperwork are maintained and completed in a timely fashion
  • Regular liaison and site updates with the Contracts Manager
  • Regualar liasion with the client
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a previous and successful track record.

Key qualifications will include:

SSSTS or SMSTS
First Aid Certificate
Time served Tradesperson or qualified to appropriate level HNC/HND/NVQ
Ability to use IT systems
