A great opportunity for a Senior Road Lighting Design Engineer to provide support to clients and lead the development of road lighting design projects on time, within budget and to the agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Road Lighting Design Engineer you will maintain consistently high technical standards and ensure team members do the same. Effective and efficient management of workload programming, resources and financial aspects of projects. Ensure that deliverables conform to the client’s requirements, recognised standards, statutory regulations and company standards.

What do we need from you?

You will need a HNC/HND or Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline. IEng or Engtech (or working towards this status) through a relevant institution. ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma. Specialist knowledge of the road lighting design discipline gained through advanced training or qualifications and experience. Understanding of engineering and technical disciplines health and safety, quality management and environmental management systems and project management techniques and practices, including contractual and commercial issues gained through experience. Good communication skills with fluent written and verbal English. Technical team management. Valid UK driving licence.

I am delighted to announce one of my clients is seeking an Associate Building Services Engineer to head up a team in London. As a consultancy, they are one of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies, with over 50,000 employees worldwide.

The role:
They are seeking an experienced, motivated Associate Building Services Design Engineer looking to develop their career.

You will take a lead role in providing both technical and team leadership for buildings and infrastructure-related projects within the region. This will include both project delivery and building client relationships, focusing on maximising client satisfaction and securing future work opportunities.

  • Developing the firm’s presence and winning new work in the education market across the UK, with a focus on the London/Southeast region
  • Contributing to business development efforts through identifying opportunities, preparing proposals/bids, managing pursuits
  • Maintaining and growing client relationships within the education sector
  • Providing technical expertise and oversight during project pursuit and delivery
  • Promoting sustainable design and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Supervising project teams and ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Advising on project pipelines, staffing needs, workloads, and operational matters
  • Assisting with financial monitoring and reporting

Requirements:

  • Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Membership of CIBSE, IMechE, IET
  • Knowledge of the Education marketplace and a track record of generating business opportunities whilst developing client relationships
  • Previous experience working in a design consultancy and experience in business development
  • Experience managing projects and design commissions relating to building services including finances
  • Experience in relevant software packages
  • Knowledge of contract forms such as NEC or JCT.
