I am looking to appoint a Grounds Maintenance Manager in the Newcastle area on a permanent basis for a nationwide contractor, looking after one of their key clients. The properties that they look after span from Berwick down to Teesside and successful candidates must commit to driving between these locations as and when required.

My client has been awarded the Facilities Management of one of their current Housing Association contracts and they are looking to appoint a Grounds Maintenance Manager on a permanent basis to help them fulfil this, looking after two Grounds Maintenance Operatives.

They are looking for candidates who have came from a similar background, working as a handyman/general maintenance operative/gardener/semi skilled labourer, ideally within the housing industry. Although the successful candidate will be looking after the team, my client will expect the manager to act as a working foreman in which they will help with day to day duties where needed.

Daily duties can be as follows but are not limited to:

  • Grass cutting
  • Hedge trimming
  • General rubbish removal
  • Looking after communal areas
  • Litter picking

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team in the North East, with great perks and benefits. Annual salary circa £28k. MUST have driving licence. Company vehicle will be provided.
